Tasting Notes
2006 Alexander Valley Zinfandel
This wine is a new take on a classic Zinfandel. Uplifting fruit flavors of cherry and raspberry predominate in the aroma, the underlying complexity hints at undertones of blackberry, and pomegranate. Bright fruit is supported by restrained oak, the palate is round and lush, beautifully pairing the cherry and berry fruit with a hint of vanilla. Careful barrel ageing leads to an elegant finish.
Winemaker’s Notes
Cuttings were taken from 1918 vines,
lending a burst of fruit flavors. Whole berry co-fermented to
enhance the characteristics of each varietal. Unfined and
unfiltered to preserve the complexity of the wine.
